Call for projects
During their studies at the Bioinformatics Institute, each student is involved in research projects. Leading specialists from Russian and International Scientific Laboratories and companies working in the field of bioinformatics and biotechnologies manage the projects. Examples of projects from previous years (in Russian): 2018 — 2021; 2014 — 2017.
About 70 students will study in the bioinformatics program in the Spring semester 2022: biologists, doctors, mathematicians and computer scientists.

During the fall semester, students successfully mastered:

- basic programming skills in Python;
- basic data analysis in R;
- command line skills;
- solving simple bioinformatics tasks (SNP calling, assembly and annotation of bacterial genomes).

- the basics of molecular biology;
- solving simple bioinformatics problems (SNP calling, assembly and annotation of bacterial genomes).
Project management includes meeting with the student for one hour each week and about 10 hours per week of his personal work.
The project must be:
- for a team of computer scientists and a biologists or doctors;
- achievable in one semester (~2.5 months);
- clearly formulated by goal and completion criteria;
- uncomplicated, that is, what you yourself could do, having a lot of time, and you understand how to do it, you can guide the student;
- educational, that is, the student must learn new things.
To submit a project, please fill out the form (Russian or English). You can submit one or several projects. Projects for a group of computer science and biology students are welcome.
